Our fajita seasoning is much fresher than what you’ll find in those little packets in the supermarket and it doesn’t have the MSG and preservatives those products often contain. It’s not too spicy, so you can serve it to kids or people who prefer things mild – but it still has a ton of flavour. Feel free to add a bit of cayenne pepper if you want to increase the heat level. This blend makes great fajitas, but it can be used in any other dish where you want Mexican flavour, from grilled meats to soups and chili.
For a quick and easy fajita recipe, sauté 2 tsps of fajita seasoning in some oil with a coarsely chopped onion and some strips of bell pepper (any colour). After a few minutes add pieces of chicken or beef and a squeeze of lime juice. Once the meat is browned on all sides, add about half a cup of water or stock and simmer until the meat is cooked and the mixture is the right consistency. Serve with your preferred condiments.
