Shipping Policy
We always keep our shipping fees as low as possible. We use flat rate shipping by province or territory. With flat-rate shipping, prices do not go up with more products, so you can get a lot more for your money by combining as many products as possible into one order. There are no extra handling fees added and we do not make a profit from shipping charges. If by some rare occurrence you are quoted an incorrect shipping rate, we will contact you and correct the charges before shipping out the order.
Our current shipping rates are as follows:
Alberta - $10
BC, Saskatchewan, Manitoba - $13
Ontario, Quebec - $16
NB, NS, NL, PEI - $18
NWT, Yukon - $17
Nunavut - $22
United States - $22
Overseas Destinations - $50
(Currently includes the following countries: United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland)
Some smaller communities and rural locations have extremely high shipping rates that fall outside our normal scale. In these cases, a supplementary shipping fee may be necessary. If your order falls into this category, we will contact you about your shipping cost before we fill your order. Overseas packages have a maximum weight of 2 kg. We will contact you before shipping your order if it is overweight.
We ship nearly all of our orders with Canada Post. In some circumstances we will ship with UPS, depending on the address. If your address is a PO box or in a remote or northern location, Canada Post is the only shipping option available.
All US and Overseas orders ship with Canada Post and are transferred to the local postal service after crossing the border. Don't forget that all our prices are in Canadian dollars, and that you will be responsible for any additional destination charges including duties, brokerage fees and taxes.
We do not charge for GST or provincial sales tax on any of our spices, herbs or blends. 5% GST is charged on all accessories, books and other non-food items.
We offer free shipping on orders over $120 which are to be delivered to easily accessible Canadian addresses. Free shipping is capped at $25. This means that if you're in a smaller or more remote area to which shipping is expensive, you may be responsible for any shipping costs that exceed $25. If this is the case, we will contact you. We're sorry, but US and Overseas orders do not qualify for free shipping.

Delivery dates are determined by Canada Post or UPS. The Silk Road Spice Merchant Ltd. is not responsible for any packages that are delayed or lost by Canada Post, UPS or border Customs.
The Silk Road Spice Merchant Ltd. is not responsible for the collection or payment of any destination charges, including duties, brokerage fees and taxes. All those charges are the responsibility of the customer.
All pricing, taxes and shipping costs are listed in Canadian currency. All transactions will be completed in Canadian dollars. Excluding civic and statutory holidays, all orders will be processed in one or two business days, provided the items are in stock and that there are no problems with payment verification.
Please make sure that your shipping address is correct. An incorrect address may cause delays in shipping. Any cost incurred due to incorrect shipping information will be charged to the customer. If you have accidentally entered the wrong shipping address when placing an order, please contact us right away.
Policies and/or shipping rates are subject to change without notice. We may change our rates and/or update our policies periodically. You will be contacted regarding any changes to the policies described above if changes occur after your order is placed, but before it is shipped. In such an event, you will be given the option to proceed under the updated policy or to cancel your order and receive full refund for your purchase. Please check this page regularly for updates.
Return Policy
For health and legal reasons, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges on food items. However, we want you to be happy with your purchases. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with one of our products, please e-mail us with the following information:
• Your name and address
• The item(s) you purchased
• The reason for your concern
We will contact you with information about any steps we are able to take to fix the situation. Please note that for any return of non-food merchandise, we will only pay return shipping charges if we have made an error or the product has arrived damaged.
