Lemongrass is a long, fibrous stalk with a very pleasant, clean and citrusy flavour that is essential to Thai foods like green curry and spicy soups. It is good with fish and seafood and excellent with chicken. It's also great with sweet foods, and can be infused into a syrup for finishing desserts or poaching fruits.
Like ginger, bay leaves and lime leaves, lemongrass is very tough, and should be either left whole and removed before eating or ground up finely. Dried lemongrass is easy to grind or you can tie it up in a piece of cheesecloth or one of our muslin bags for easy removal from a dish.
We also carry ground lemongrass for those who prefer not to grind it themselves.
