Crab boil is a blend of whole spices that is used for Louisiana-style boiled crabs, shrimp and crawfish. Traditionally, cooks wrap their spices up in a sachet made of muslin or cheesecloth and toss them into a pot of boiling water along with some salt and hot sauce. This flavours the water before adding the vegetables and seafood. We’ve already bagged the spices for you, so they are ready for the pot. One sachet is enough for a large pot of water, so get your shellfish and have some friends over for an old-fashioned seafood boil.
Our Louisiana Crab Boil includes yellow mustard seeds, coriander seeds, allspice berries, dill seeds, red pepper flakes, cloves, lemon peel and bay leaves. It contains no salt, but we recommend adding some to the water before you boil your fish.
