Persian Advieh is a traditional spice blend used across Iran and other parts of the Middle East. As with many other spice mixtures, it has loads of regional variations and different uses. The flavour is sweet, savoury and tart (it contains no salt). It is fairly all-purpose but is often called for in Persian rice dishes and chicken stews. We love it on roasted vegetables like squash, cauliflower and eggplant. It also adds a ton of flavour to chutneys and sauces.
Our version of Persian Advieh is extremely fragrant, with freshly ground green cardamom and rose petals. It also contains loads of Sri Lankan true cinnamon as well ground loomi (dried black limes) and other Middle Eastern spices.
Ingredients: Sri Lankan true cinnamon, green cardamom, rose petals, cumin, coriander, black pepper, nutmeg, cloves, loomi.
