Gentian Root is a very common ingredient for all sorts of bitters, liqueurs, soft drinks, and health tonics. Its distinctive bitter flavour is prominent in Angostura and Peychaud’s Bitters, the French aperitif Suze, the Italian aperitivo Aperol, and the American soft drink Moxie.
